Leinster Farm Machines Update

A year on from their amazing fundraising event, we wanted to provide an update on the massive impact of the funds raised by Leinster Farm Machines for the NRH.  In August 2024, this group of amazing cyclists took on the challenge of cycling Coast to Coast, from Galway to Meath, all with the aim of raising funds for the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH).  They raised a phenomenal €26,318.24.  A massive THANK YOU goes out to all the companies and individuals who donated to and supported this amazing fundraising initiative.  These funds raised supported the NRH in the purchase of a much needed new Urodynamics machine for the Urology Service.  Urodynamics is an invaluable clinical assessment tool in patient care in the NRH and can greatly guide patient treatment plans. It is associated with high clinical performance and allows for precise identification of risk factors for the NRH patient cohort.

As a result, the Urodynamics machine is a crucial piece of equipment in the Urology department. Without it, patients would have to wait many mouths for these tests in a general hospital, which may not be equipped to meet their needs. The existing machine, due to its age and extensive use, was no longer preforming optimally and nearing its equipment lifetime. In addition, consumables for the old machine had now changed and the team were finding it difficult to get suitable consumables for the older model.  As a result this piece of equipment needed to be replaced as soon as possible.  Through this amazing support from the Coast to Coast cycle these funds were able to be directed to support this purchase and the new machine is now in situ, put into production immediately when it arrived on site!  A Massive thank you to the Coast to Coast cycle for enabling this to happen – your generous support has made an impactful difference in patient care in the NRH.
