Dublin footballer Eoghan O’Gara was on hand – with the Sam Maguire Cup – to help launch the 2017 Galway Cycle, a charity cycling event run by Maynooth University students. The Galway Cycle is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its charity work this year, in which hundreds of cyclists will cycle 200 km each way to and from Galway on the weekend of the 7th of April 2017.
Every year the Galway Cycle raises thousands of Euro for children’s charities through the extraordinary efforts of its cyclists, the local communities and loyal sponsors.
This year the cycle is raising funds for the NRH Paediatric Unit. The funds raised will go towards equipping certain areas of the Paediatric Unit within the new Hospital build, namely the Therapeutic & Sensory Garden, the Therapeutic Outdoor Playground, the Multi-sensory Therapy Room and the Adolescent Den.
They are currently recruiting for Cyclists and also bucket collectors for the weekend of the cycle– please do consider being part of this very unique experience.
Cheer On & Celebrate with the Cyclists!
